A new chapter for At Her Table Ministries
An update from Co-Directors Lauren Harkness and Kylie Malcolm
October 07, 2026
At Her Table Ministries is entering a new chapter, with shared leadership, registered charity status and a clearer focus on equipping women to build local communities centred on connection, conversation and faith.
Founded by Lauren Harkness during the lockdown of 2021, At Her Table began as a response to women’s need for connection. It grew into gatherings in a variety of settings, offering opportunities for women to share stories, explore faith and develop friendships.
Lauren also began hosting virtual cuppas with women across Australia. These conversations were soon booked out six weeks in advance, highlighting the demand for personal connection and a listening ear.
This response helped shape the ministry’s next step: supporting women to create opportunities for connection in their own neighbourhoods.
Launched in 2025, At Her Table Way equips women to lead with confidence, host meaningful conversations and establish micro faith communities. These small, local gatherings provide space for relationships to deepen, faith to be explored and everyday life to be shared. They can take place around a kitchen table, in a café or on a regular walk together.
Through training, practical resources and ongoing encouragement, we support women as they develop gatherings suited to their communities.
Kylie Malcolm first connected with Lauren through a virtual cuppa in August 2025. Subsequent conversations revealed a shared commitment to supporting women and building communities rooted in faith.
Kylie has since joined At Her Table Ministries as Co-Director. This partnership brings complementary gifts and experience to the ministry and establishes a shared approach to leadership as the work grows.
Together, Lauren and Kylie are developing the ministry’s resources, strengthening support for local leaders and discerning the next steps for At Her Table.
At Her Table Ministries is now a registered charity with the Australian Charities and Not-for-profits Commission (ACNC). This milestone provides a foundation for the ministry’s ongoing development.
Our mission is to help women feel deeply connected and supported, encouraging authentic conversations and communities rooted in faith so that women across Australia have the opportunity to taste and see the goodness of God.
Hospitality remains central to this mission. As our work expands beyond the gatherings we host ourselves, we are equipping and supporting more women to offer welcome and nurture community where they live.
If you are interested in starting a local gathering, exploring At Her Table Way or learning more about the ministry, we would welcome a conversation.
